Original slings provided with new M1 Garand rifles in the '50's
The Collector source has located a large stash of MINT condition M1 Garand slings straight from Government surplus. This is a mint, unused, USGI sling for an M1 Garand rifle. They have never been unwraped and have never been on a rifle. These slings were packed in such a way to be used in long term storage in the 1950's. They have been packed in the tightly wrapped VCI paper shown. These slings were packed in with the newly made M1 Garands, shipped in the VCI wrap in the 1950's. The white powder visable is the VCI powder. It prevents moisture damage. It is easily wiped off if you want to use the sling. They are the best original slings you can get on the internet anywhere. If you have a mint, National Match, M1 D, 6 mil, or Collector grade M1 in your collection, then this would be the perfect sling to put with it. They would be more correct for the new in the VCI wrap M1 Garands that the CMP has in their south store. I unwrapped this one for the pictures so you can see what they look like. I will not unwrap slings to pick out a certain date. Some of the slings will have tears in the paper from being loosely stored together. Add these items to your order with no extra shipping |
