New, Old Stock condition from the Greasy military preservative wrapping.
These are new, old stock buttplates for the 1903 and 1903A3 rifle that have been pulled from a sealed box of ten. They were made during WWII and have never been installed on a rifle. They are covered in thick, goey grease. I cleaned off the one pictured so you could see what they look like. They have a nice even parkerized finish.
