This is a very nice, walnut stock for a HRA M1 garand . If you have recieved a HRA rifle from the CMP, but it had a worn or mismatched stock, then this is for you. It will restore your rifle to original condition. It would easily be on a correct grade Harrington & Richardson rifle from the CMP, and may have made the grade for a collector grade if they were still being sold.
It appears to be very little used and the contact surfaces are in excellent shape. It should lock up tightly. It has a BEAUTIFUL striped or marbled grain throught its length. The stock hasnt been sanded. If it was it would bring out the striped grain. There are no cracks, splits or repairs. It only has VERY minor handling dents and dings.
It has a very clear 1/2" DAS and non serriffed "P". It has no rebuild markings, rack numbers or other markings. The original HRA buttplate and front furrule are included.
The original HRA handguards match well and have the same level of wear. The rear handguard is the thin overton type, and has the partial "O" on the back. The front handguard has the thin profile as well and has the light colored front furrule that is a known HRA trait.
This is a nice, original collector grade stock for a HRA rifle. They are getting very hard to find in this condition.
